Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16

The Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale announced Tuesday, August 25 that sales catalogs are out for the second annual event set for Thursday, Oct. 15 and Friday, Oct. 16 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Both sessions will begin at 10 a.m. featuring 434 select yearlings over the two-day sale.
Yearlings are not categorized this year and will sell beginning with the letter “W’ for the dam’s name. The alphabetical order by dam was drawn randomly in May.
Buyers can stop by a day early for the annual Preview Day offered from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the West and South Pavilions of the State Fairgrounds. Hip numbers 1 through 218 sell on Thursday while the remainder of the yearlings sell Friday beginning with Hip number 222.
Auctioneers for the event are Ady White and Drew Turner of Ohio. Pedigrees will be read by Bob Heyden and Gabe Prewitt. A total of 39 consignors are represented in the catalog. Some of the bigger consignments include Chapel Ridge Farm with 37, Oakwood Farms with 34, In Law Stables with 30, Bluebird Meadows with 28, Pond A Acres and Black Creek Farm with 24 each, and Victory Hill Farm with 23.
Swan for All has the largest amount of foals available with 30 colts and 33 fillies (63 total) offered for sale. JK Endofanera has 49 total, 29 of which are fillies. Tellitlikeitis has 42 colts and geldings and 28 fillies offered in the sale while Rebuff has 40 foals, including 20 fillies. First crop sires Jujubee has 15 foals, 11 of which are fillies along with Loubet, who has 27 in the sale with eight fillies.
The second yearling to sell as Hip No. 2 is Satchel from the Victory Hill Farm. The Tellitlikeitis colt is a full brother to the great Coach Stefanos. A top trotting prospect, Brookview Ideal, sells as Hip No 16 as the full brother to Brookview Bolt. The Swan for All colt is from the Brookview Farms consignment.
