Freaky Lover loves to win. The freshman pacing gelding scored another victory Friday, August 28 in a driving finish, stopping the timer in 1:53.3, just a few ticks off his career best time.
Freaky Lover and Anthony Miller began from post two and was able to accompany Ima Real Lover Boy and Kyle Wilfong from post one out of the gate with some speed and slip right behind them heading to the first turn. Ima Real Lover Boy was in full control through the quarter in :29.0. Straight Blue Skies made a big move around the top two and took over before the half in :58.0 for the even rated mile. The tempo picked up around the final turn as horses stayed tucked in along the inside to save ground.
In the stretch, Freaky Lover and Miller tipped out and challenged Straight Blue Skies while Ima Real Lover Boy was also out and on the attack. Midway through the lane it was Ima Real Lover Boy and Freaky Lover who were locked in a battle. In the end, Freaky Lover was the winner by a half length over Ima Real Lover Boy. Lahaina Memory and Marcus Miller closed well for third. The top three finishers all paced home in :26 and change in the race.
Freaky Lover paid $7.20 for the win. The Freaky Feet Pete gelding is owned by Zach Miller and Edward Dobrowolski. Zach trains the homebred freshman, who is out of the one-time Sires Stakes contender SS Lover, who completed her career for Zach Miller before heading to the brood mare ranks. She has been a 100 percent producer for Miller and Dobrowolski with five foals and five winners including Lovers Trouble with a mark of 1:49.4 and more than $167,000 and counting.
Freaky Lover now has three wins in eight starts and two thirds only missing the board in three career starts. His career best time of 1:53.1 was taken in late July.
Three-year-old colt and gelding pacers closed out the card in the $15,000 Indiana Sires Stakes eligible event as Shadyshark Ten and Jordan Ross lit up the tote board. The Shadyshark Hanover gelding, owned by Randy Cowley of Tennessee, sat next to last the entire way before unleashing a big stretch drive, pacing home in :26.4 to win in 1:52.0 by a half length over Some Great Deal and Marcus Miller. Cowboy Show and John DeLong finished third.
Shadyshark Ten has been trained by Robert Taylor since his first start. With the exception of a few starts at Oak Grove, he has spent his entire career at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. It was his second win of 2026 and fourth overall. He took his career best in his first win of 2026 in June in 1:51.4.
Indiana Sires Stakes also continued on the Friday program. Full coverage will be provided by the Harrah’s Hoosier Park race marketing team.
