ISA Board meeting moved to Wednesday, November 11 due to sale

Fresh on the heels of the Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale at the Indiana State Fairgrounds, Indiana horsemen and women are gearing up for the Northern Indiana Yearling Speed Sale set for Tuesday, November 10 at the Topeka Livestock Auction in Topeka, Ind. A special preview day will be held Monday, November 9 from 2 until 7 p.m. at the facility.

As a result of the sale, the regularly scheduled Indiana Standardbred Association (ISA) Board Meeting has been moved to Wednesday, November 11. The board meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the ISA Offices in Greenfield, Ind. On the agenda will be election of directors effective January 2027.

The Northern Indiana Yearling Speed Sale has 91 hip numbers for the event, which begins at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Ed Teefey will provide pedigree reading with Drew Turner serving as auctioneer. The sale is heavy on trotting pedigrees and represents several new stallions, including Loubet, Jujubee, Ozzy Hall, and Fast as the Wind to name a few.

One interesting entry in the trotting ranks is Hip No. 27, Nurse Gemma, consigned by Chapel Ridge Farm acting as agent for Christy Schwartz. The Rebuff filly is a first foal from the mare Nurse Rhonda, who is a half sister to the standout Indiana trotter Summit City Swan (1:54.2, $205,000). On down the page, the family includes the great Earls Glider, former Indiana champ with a mark of 1:55.1 and more than $600,000 in earnings.

On the pacing side, Nelson Slabach is offering a first foal from the Rockin Image mare Richess Image named Richesscaptain, a gelding by Capt Midnight. Selling as Hip No. 34, the gelding’s third dam is the mother of Anndrovette, a winner in 1:48 with more than $3.5 million in earnings and was named 2012 Older Pacing Mare of the Year in both the U.S. and Canada. Richesscaptain is both Indiana and Kentucky eligible.
