In a very unique turn of events, Indiana stallion Capt Midnight won another qualifying race Wednesday, November 4 at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. Now 9, the proven stallion scored his latest qualifier in a time of 1:54.0 and it was a qualifying drive for Luke Miller.

Capt Midnight, a son of Captaintreacherous, last raced in 2020 at Dover Downs November 12, 2020. He ended his two-year-career with more than a half million on his card and a mark of 1:48.3. He has had a successful career as a stallion in Indiana with four crops, and only one foal registered from one mare bred last year. Overall, he has produced 161 starters and 85 with marks of 2:00 or faster and 49 under the 1:55 time barrier. He has seven with earnings of more than $100,000 with Kountry Legacy, the two-year-old daughter of the World Champion and 2019 Horse of the Year Shartin N, the richest with $210,000. Capt Karma is the quickest as part of his first crop with a mark of 1:50.2.

Luke Miller placed Capt Midnight right on the lead and opened up more ground at every pole, winning by 12 and three-quarter lengths with a final quarter in :27.2. Designated Freak and Anthony Miller finished second right alongside Ima Happy Fella GB and Lee Morris for third.

Capt Midnight is still listed in the lineup of stallions at Premier Acres with the 2026 stud fee as private treaty.

Capt Midnight is under the ownership of The Captain Crew and trained by Tyler George. He was bred by Hanover Shoe Farms. His previous qualifier in October was also a gate to wire effort with Trace Tetrick in the bike. The mile was timed in 1:52.3.

Capt Midnight currently stands at Premier Acres. According to the internet, he has also shuttled to Australia in the past to stand at stud at Cobbitty Equine Farm.
