Two in a row for Indiana mare

Premier Mayflower and Dan Noble set sail Saturday, March 21 for another win in 2026, pairing the victory with a win at Harrah’s Hoosier Park in her previous outing. The win kicked off the Saturday card at Northfield Park during an all-female lineup for the program.
Premier Mayflower began from post two and used just enough speed to get in front of Kit Kak and Justin Irvine. However, it was Gotstopaymeinpapa and Aaron Merriman who made the biggest splash at the start. The duo crossed over quickly and was in the lead spot before the field reached the first turn, continuing a quick tempo past the quarter in :28.0. Premier Mayflower was right on her back with a big gap back to the remainder of the field.
The pack did tighten up heading to the half with Vel Who Said and John Ciocca Jr. stuck on the outside. The duo came up to sit on the outside of Premier Mayflower through the half in :57.2 and to the three-quarters in 1:26.2 before fading. This gave Premier Mayflower the perfect opportunity to move to the outside in the final turn.
Once the field was in the stretch, Premier Mayflower went right on by Gotstopaymeinpapa and sailed under the wire in 1:55.1, a new lifetime mark. Gotstopaymeinpapa finished a length back in second with several lengths back to Sweet Lake and Anthony MacDonald in third.
Premier Mayflower paid $3.60 for the win. The four-year-old daughter of Capt Midnight is owned by Buckeye Stables and trained by Mike Wilson. Dennis Bontrager bred the mare, who is a former contender on the Indiana Sired Fair Circuit for trainer Justin White.
Premier Mayflower now has seven wins and more than $30,000 in earnings. She was initially a $4,000 purchase from the Hoosier Classic Yearling Sale as the second foal from the Dragon Again mare Bella Girl Hanover, who is from the tough family out of Bikini Hanover that includes Boca Hanover (1:51.1, $526,000) and Brissonte Hanover, the dam of Blush Hanover (1:51.3, $446,000).
