Sheisatomboy strong in Rosie Harness Memorial

The Rosie Harness Memorial is named in honor of a former trainer-owner in Indiana who left the racing world too soon due to a car accident. It’s only fitting that a filly with a lot of potential won the race Friday, March 20 in the race named after Harness. Sheisatomboy and Jeff Dever soared home for the win in the event at Harrah’s Hoosier Park.
Sheisatomboy began from post four and was accompanied by Rita’s Girl and Kyle Wilfong out of the gate headed to the lead. Rita’s Girl had the edge on Sheisatomboy going into the first turn, giving Sheisatomboy the spot right at the back of Rita’s Girl through the first quarter in :27.3. The Indiana filly had a big hold on Dever heading to the half in :31.1 before the tempo picked up around the final turn. Dever kept Sheisatomboy in behind Rita’s Girl until the top of the stretch and when she came out of the hole, her ears were pinned and she was all business.

Sheisatomboy moved out to the lead and had a good jump on the field. Mystical Night and Clint Coy were charging hard from the back of the pack but they could not reach Sheisatomboy in time, who earned the win in 1:55.2, a new lifetime mark. Mystical Night was second over Kobe’s Nani and Brandon Bates, who won the battle for third in a tight photo with Rita’s Girl.
Sheisatomboy was a surprise winner, paying $26.00 for the win. The Tellitlikeitis three-year-old was making her first start of 2026 after limited starts last year on the Indiana Sired Fair Circuit. She is a home bred filly owned by Al, Brackton, and Ryan Miller with Dever Racing Stable also owning a portion of the filly. It was her third career win as she kicks off her 2026 racing season for the Millers, who purchased her mother Kendyl, a six figure earner, in 2020 to add to their breeding operation.
The Millers have been longtime participants in racing in the state of Indiana. Hailing from Middlebury, Ryan and his son, Brackton, now own and operate an apparel and gift company called Prime Promotions. They provide numerous shirts, pens, and other items for racing at Horseshoe Indianapolis each year. The Miller family has had several previous Indiana champions, most recently the trotter Naturdays, who made more than $350,000 as an Indiana Sires Stakes winner.
Earlier in the night, Kousin Karl and Trace Tetrick were gate to wire winners in the Donnie Conrad Memorial trot. The Dover Dan three-year-old trotted home in :28.1 for the win in 1:57.0, finishing a length and a quarter ahead of One Mike Out and Clint Coy. Help or Hinder and Doug Rideout finished third.
Trained by Rick Macomber, Kousin Karl paid $10.20 for the win. He is owned by M & M Racing, Macomber Racing, and Doug Overhiser. Lyle Slabach bred and raised the gelding, who earned his first career win in his second career start Friday at Harrah’s Hoosier Park.
