Only three races, besides a set of qualifiers earlier in the day at Harrah’s Hoosier Park, were contested in the state of Indiana Wednesday, August 12 with action getting underway at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Historical rains flooded Central Indiana for the second straight day, causing cancellations of both Harrah’s Hoosier Park as well as Horseshoe Indianapolis. At the State Fairgrounds, a delayed start got three races in before rain moved in again, canceling the remainder of the card. Kicking off the three races held at the Indiana State Fairgrounds (ISF) for the Grand Circuit card was the royally bred Kountry Legacy, guided by Trace Tetrick. The filly stepped up in the first round of the 90 th Hoosier Stake for two-year-old fillies, and Kountry Legacy responded. Ponda Era and Travis Seekman moved straight out to the lead with Kountry Legacy slipping in behind her. Ponda Era was two lengths ahead of the short field of four at the quarter in :28.4 and half in :58.2 as everyone stayed in single file. Kountry Legacy worked out a perfect trip moving to the outside coming out of the last turn. Once she was out, she took off, rallying home to a three and three-quarter length advantage at the wire for the win in 1:54.1. Kountry Legacy paced her final quarter in :26.1. Fantastech and Marcus Miller finished second over Ponda Era. Kountry Legacy is owned by Pollack Racing and Jeff Cullipher, who trains the Capt Midnight filly. She is out of the superstar mare Shartin N and was bred by Ola Yoder’s Kountry Lane Standardbreds. The filly was purchased by Pollack and Cullipher from the Midwest Standardbred Sale last fall for $35,000. She is dual eligible, also available to race in stakes in Kentucky. The petite filly is now three for five with more than $80,000 on her card. She is a Sires Stakes winner in both Indiana and Kentucky already this season for her connections. Two-year-old trotting fillies were then on the track for the first division of the 90 th Hoosier Stake. Intricate Dance and Doug Rideout powered out from the outside and had the lead position secured heading into the first turn. Fractions of :30.0, 1:00.3, and 1:30.2 were placed on the board by Intricate Dance before Savings Account and Marcus Miller moved to the outside to challenge. The two fillies battled their way down the stretch with Intricate Dance holding onto the lead at the wire, a half length winner over Savings Account. Satin Serenade and Derek Hooley finished third. Intricate Dance, a daughter of Temporal Hanover, is owned by Julie Rideout, Dr. Alan White, and Dave Gamble. Doug Rideout also trains the filly who was bred and raised by Jared Fry and Myron Petersheim. It was the filly’s third win in six starts. The second division of the Hoosier Stake for two-year-old fillies brought in a surprise winner as Brookview Hershey and Kevin Detweiler led the field gate to wire for the win. Fractions of :28.4, :57.3, and 1:26.3 were placed on the board as Brookview Hershey dominated the field, posting a three and one-quarter length advantage at the wire in 1:56.0. Prazana and Dan Shetler finished second over Secret Shadow and Marcus Miller. It was the first win of her career for Brookview Hershey as storms lurked nearby. The Swan for All filly is owned by Nathan Yoder, Gary Graber, and Stephen Stoll. Leander Schwartz trains the filly, who was bred by John Miller. That was the final race for the day as the program went into a weather delay with lightning in the area. The remainder of the card will be moved to Friday, August 14 beginning at 10 a.m. This includes the Fox Stake as well as the Ralph Wilfong Memorial among the nine races moved to Friday. The Indiana Sired Fair Circuit holds its final preliminary round for the Governor’s Cup Championships next week at the Clinton County Fairgrounds in Frankfort. Racing begins at 11 a.m. for the final leg in the Quest for the Governor’s Cup.

Photo by Dean Gillette Ameelio with Robert Taylor in the bike earned her first career win Tuesday, August 11 over very sloppy conditions at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. The trotting filly scored her win in a time of 1:58.1. Starting from post four, Ameelio rallied out to the lead from the gate and was the first leader heading into the first turn before being overtaken by Help This Lady and Peter Wrenn before the quarter in :28.4. From there, she stayed tucked in behind the leader through fractions of :59.3 and 1:29.1. At the head of the lane, she found the room she needed to advance and went to work, trotting home in :28.2 for the win by two and one-quarter lengths well under wraps by Taylor. Flirt Dover and Jordan Ross closed for second with Help This Lady holding her ground for third. Ameelio paid $14.20 for the win. The Rebuff daughter is owned by Fourfifty Racing, Terry Miller, and Ryan Miller. Lonnie Helmuth trains the filly, who was making her fourth career start. The dual eligible filly to both Indiana and Kentucky, was a $9,000 purchase last fall at the Midwest Classic Yearling Sale. She is the fourth foal from the Explosive Matter mare Ameliosi, who took a mark of 1:54 and earned more than $300,000 during her racing career. In addition to Ameelio, who is now her fastest performer, she has produced Regina George, a winner in 1:59.3 and still racing. A few races later it was Pete and Repeat in the Trackmaster Rating race. Driven by Matt Krueger, the Freaky Feet Pete gelding got away toward the back of the pack as Dating A Virgin and Trace Tetrick established fractions of :26.3 and :56.1 up front. Pete and Repeat began moving up on the outside and endured a first over journey to the head of the lane. In the stretch, Pete and Repeat battled gamely with Wise Thinking and Stephen White, finally getting the edge at the wire for the win by a neck in 1:53.2. R Tyler Towne and Cordarius Stewart finished third. Pete and Repeat paid $10.40 for the win. The five-year-old is owned by Green Acres LLC, Mike Klimas, and David Nielsen. Gregory Klein trains the home bred, who earned his first win of 2026 in the race. Overall, he has six wins and a mark of 1:52.4 taken at Hawthorne last season. He was unraced at two.

The Indiana State Fair is now underway for its 17-day schedule. The Indiana Standardbred Association (ISA) is back with special Speed Barn Tours, offering fair goers a look at one of the oldest sports in the state, harness racing. The Speed Barn Tours provide all types of activities, from the interactive virtual reality goggles to equipment and posters explaining the details of racing. However, the most popular portion of the Speed Barn Tours are the visits with retired racehorses. The Speed Barn Tours wouldn’t be the same without an appearance from Rocket Fuel, who has been involved in the tours each year since they were implemented. A son of Indiana sire Dontgetinmyway, Rocket Fuel enjoyed a nine-year career on the track, bringing in 40 wins and more than $784,000 in earnings. His career best time of 1:50 was taken as a seven-year-old at then Indiana Downs. The former Indiana Sires Stakes champ was unraced at two but retired at the end of his 11-year-old year. The gelding is now 25-years-old and is enjoying retirement near Converse. Alvin Miller trained the gelding his entire career for Twila Harts. Several thousand people will pass through the display for Indiana harness racing during the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The display is open on select days and more than 2,500 people enjoyed the tour the very first day it was open Friday, August 7. Leapnpetesonhisway earned another win on the Indiana Sired Fair Circuit (ISFC) Saturday, August 8 during action at the Jay County Fairgrounds in Portland, Ind. The freshman pacer leads the way in the standings with six wins on the circuit this summer heading to the $25,000 Governor’s Cup Championships at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Fresh off driver Logan Loney’s first career driving triple, Leapnpetesonhisway took advantage of his rail position and rallied right to the top. RB’s Choclitis and Ronald Burks followed Leapnpetesonhisway out from the second tier and settled in the two hole as fractions of :30.4 and 1:00.1 were placed on the board. JK Barbar and Clint Coy pulled first up in the second half to put some pressure on Leapnpetesonhisway. Leapnpetesonhisway was strong on the front end and heading into the stretch. JK Barbar began closing in with both horses battling to the end. Leapnpetesonhisway got the edge by a nose over JK Barbar for the win in 1:58.1, pacing home in :28.0 seconds. RB’s Choclitis finished third. Leapnpetesonhisway is owned by Therl Hensley and trained by Rocky Loney. The Freaky Feet Pete colt was bred and raised by Dr. Paul and Cathy Webb. Leapnpetesonhisway is now six for nine in his young career and with one more stop on the preliminary round of races heading to the final, he carries a two-race win streak and has been first or second in his last six starts. Rocky Loney trains the talented colt. Also providing Logan Loney with a win on the Saturday card was Midnight Fox in the second division for two-year-old pacing colts. The Capt Midnight gelding traveled two and three wide in the middle of the race before taking over at the head of the stretch and striding home to a two and three-quarter length win in 2:00.1. Rockalone and Jeff Dever finished second over Premier Finaltouch and Ronald Burks. Midnight Fox is owned by D and J Racing Stables and trained by Jonathan Williams. Merlie Schwartz bred the pacer. Logan Loney’s final win of the day came behind three-year-old trotting gelding Don’t Keep Secrets. The trotter turned in a gate to wire effort, fending off a late charge by Don’t Tell Anyone and Kevin Detweiler by a nose at the finish line in 1:59.3. Yearoffear and Doug Rideout finished third. Don’t Keep Secrets is owned by Jeri Kieninger and trained by Rocky Loney. Don’t Keep Secrets is now on a three-race win streak for his connections. One more stop is scheduled on the ISFC before the top eight are slated for the Governor’s Cup Championships at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Action heads to the Clinton County Fairgrounds in Frankfort for the final round August 15.

One of those winners was Gullfaxi, driven by Jordan Ross to a victory in the $13,000 Iron Horse Claiming Series. Gullfaxi began from post one and saved ground early as Brake Ahead and John DeLong sprinted to the lead from the outside. Gullfaxi got away fourth as the first quarter posted at :26.4. The back of the pack came to life before the half in :54.4 led by Bettor B Sirius and Atlee Bender. Quixote and Brandon Bates were flushed out around the final turn. In the stretch, Quixote took over with Gullfaxi picking up cover behind him. Later in the stretch, Gullfaxi tipped wider and rallied home in :27.2 for the win by two lengths over Quixote. Bettor B Sirius finished third. Both Quixote and Brake Ahead were claimed from the race. Gullfaxi paid $10.60 for the win. The seven-year-old son of Rockin Image is owned by Caldwell Mamie Racing of Ohio and trained by Charlie Stewart. Duane Miller and Gene Borkholder bred and raised the gelding, who earned his sixth win of 2026. Overall, he now has 20 wins and more than $230,000 in earnings. His career best time of 1:49.2 was taken earlier this year at Harrah’s Hoosier Park in 1:49.2. Stewart was back in the winner’s circle in the very next race in the first round of the Marion Savage claiming series. Sectionlinetwister driven by John DeLong turned in a gate to wire effort for the win by two and three-quarter lengths in 1:50.4, a final quarter in :27.3. Watching Sunset and Kyle Wilfong finished second over Bullville Frank and Brandon Bates. Sectionlinetwister paid $2.60 for the win as the favorite of the field. The eight-year-old son of Well Said was owned by Nicole Stewart and trained by Charlie Stewart. However, he was claimed from the race by Garcia Power Inc. Sectionlinetwister moves to a new barn with 27 career wins and more than $300,000 in earnings. His win Friday was a new lifetime mark.

The three-year-old filly earned the victory in a time of 1:56.0 in the conditioned claiming non winners event. Gimmee Da Gelt began from post four and immediately headed to the lead for trainer-driver Daryl Bontrager. Midnight Tigress and Robert Taylor were the first to reach the lead on the inside with Gimmee Da Gelt taking over heading into the first turn. They led the field through the first quarter in :27.3. Gimmee Da Gelt was still in command at the half in :57.1 as Sandy Oh Sandy and Trace Tetrick were flushed out into first over fashion for the second half. Gimmee Da Gelt was still in command at the head of the lane as Sandy Oh Sandy came up to challenge. The two fillies battled each other stride for stride down the stretch before Gimmee Da Gelt got the edge. Then, Northern Luckyjane and Kyle Wilfong began advancing on the inside while Midnight Tigress came to life on the outside. In the end, Gimmee Da Gelt was a winner by a neck over Northern Luckyjane. Midnight Tigress finished third. Gimmee Da Gelt paid $17.80 for the win. The Luck Be Withyou sophomore is owned and bred by Ira Steinberg. After going winless last year at two, Gimmee Da Gelt earned her first win in her eighth start of 2026. She is a full sister to Steinberg’s Ahva Sholum, a winner in 1:51.2 with $69,000 on his card and still counting. Later in the card, For Heaven’s Sake and Trace Tetrick turned in a near gate to wire effort in trotting action in a time of 1:54.2, a final quarter in :28.3. Indiana Help and Brandon Bates finished a half length back in second with Woodside Julius and LeWayne Miller finishing third. For Heaven’s Sake paid $10.40 for the win. The Swan for All filly is owned by Denise Dennis and trained by Jeff Edwards. Blue Chip Bloodstock, John Lengacher, and Danielle Henri bred the filly, who now has three wins with a career best time of 1:53.3.

It was a rare Wednesday with no racing on the schedule at Harrah’s Hoosier Park but qualifying action went on during the morning with six races on the program. Three were dedicated to two-year-olds with Let B Express and Kevin Lambright turning in a clean mile and picking up a new lifetime mark in the process. Let B Express scooted out of the gate with early speed and secured the top spot before the first turn arrived. The field all got away from the gate on the trot and settled in behind the leader through the quarter in :30.0. Let B Express was still in command through the half in 1:01.1 with Ball One and Tim Clevenger watching their every move. In the stretch, Let B Express turned up the tempo and trotted home in :28.2 for the win by two and one-half lengths in 1:59.2. Ball One was a solid second, also trotting home in :28.2 with Double A Chapter A and Jordan Ross finishing third. Let B Express is a two-year-old son of Don’t Let’em. Twoforone Stable purchased him earlier this year. Bobby Reeser handles the training duties for the gelding, who was bred by James Schulte of Kentucky. Let B Express is from the third crop of Don’t Let’em. He had four starts on the Kentucky Fair Circuit before coming to Indiana. His win Wednesday was the first of his career and his first for new trainer Bobby Reeser. In the other trotting division of two-year-olds, Fifty Dallar Diva and Jordan Ross turned in an impressive mile which ended in the freshman trotter going by opponents in the lane and winning by more than four lengths. The time of the mile was 2:02.3 with a final quarter in :28.3. Swan So Sweet and Marcus Miller finished second over Mywildcard and Zach Miller for third. Fifty Dallar Diva is a homebred by John Barnard’s Fiftydallarbill. The filly is trained by Luis Quevedo. It was her second qualifier as she preps for her two-year-old campaign in Indiana. She is a full sister to Revin for Dallars, who has a mark of 1:52.4 with earnings of more than $40,000 and counting. Racing is back in action Thursday, August 6 at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. The program gets underway at 5:30 p.m.

Cool Manner got back to her winning ways in a big way Tuesday, August 4, establishing a new track record for two-year-old trotting fillies on the Indiana Sired Fair Circuit (ISFC). The filly stopped the timer in 2:00.1 to set the new mark. Cool Manner had three straight wins on the ISFC before her last start at Connersville, experiencing interference at the start that resulted in a break and it knocked her out of any chance. This time, driver Kevin Detweiler had the filly clear of the field early in the race to lead the way through the quarter in :30 seconds. That was the last time the rest of the field could keep tabs on her. She opened up at every pole, setting fractions of 1:01.0 and 1:30.0 before rallying around the final turn and heading to victory by 14 and one-quarter lengths for the win, a final quarter trotted in :30.1. Wizards Temptation and Cordarius Stewart finished second over ER Navy and Don Eash for third. Cool Manner earned her seventh win in 11 starts this year. The daughter of Rebuff is owned and trained by Joseph Wagler of Milroy, Ind. Wagler purchased her for $8,000 last fall at the Midwest Standardbred Horse Sale from the In-Law Stables consignment, who was acting as agent for Karl Miller, breeder. Cool Manner is currently in second place on the standings for the ISFC behind Sassytemper, who also was a winner on the day. Sassytemper leads the way with 498 points with nine wins on the ISFC while Cool Manner has eight wins with a tally of 445 points. Both fillies have started 12 times so far in their quest for the Governor’s Cup Championships at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. It was one of five wins on the card for the partnership of Detweiler and Wagler. Detweiler currently leads the standings this year among all drivers while Wagler leads the way among all trainers. The previous track record listed in the program for Converse was set earlier this year by another daughter of Rebuff. Rebuffpinklady and Trainer-Driver Doug Rideout set the mark at 2:01.3 during the second round of the ISFC in June. Chantilly Russ and Don Eash kicked off the program with a gate to wire win in three-year-old filly pacing action, scoring the win in 1:56.0, just a few ticks off the track record. The Rockin Image filly was a length and a quarter ahead of Sun Rae’s Triumph and Anthony Miller while Artistic Photo and Clint Coy finished third. It was the first win for Chantilly Russ since the second round of the ISFC at Converse. She has been racing at Harrah’s Hoosier Park for most of her outings this season for the Eash Racing Stable ownership. Don Eash trains the filly, who was bred by Fast Lane Stables. She was acquired by the Eash Stable at the beginning of 2026.
