Cresent Roll was on a roll Saturday, November 7 at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. The four-year-old Indiana trotter rallied home to his first win of the year for trainer-driver Chad Clark in the $7,000 conditioned claiming event for young trotters.
Cresent Roll began from post one and had a straight shot out of the gate to the lead. She was accompanied by Donato’s Austina and Brad Ferguson for a few strides before they backed off seeking the spot behind Cresent Roll before the first turn arrived. Just as the top two got settled, race favorite Swan Shores and Lavern Hostetler were on a mission to take over, passing up Cresent Roll at the quarter in :28.4. Swan Shores was strong on the lead through the half in :58.3 with Ronald Weasley and James Yoder moving up with authority on the outside around the final turn.
At the head of the lane, there was room for Cresent Roll to give her best shot at overtaking Swan Shores. Clark popped the earplugs and moved the mare to the outside. She began to slowly trot up with Swan Shores before taking over midway through the lane and scoring the win by two and one-quarter lengths in 1:57.4, a final quarter trotted in :28.3. Swan Shores was a clear second over Ronald Weasley for third.
Cresent Roll paid $50.60 for the win. The four-year-old daughter of Crescent Fashion is owned by Chad Clark and Dustin Heinzen. Joseph Wagler bred the mare, who was purchased by Clark at the Midwest Classic Yearling Sale for $7,500, the second highest priced yearling by Crescent Fashion that year out of only six sold at public auction. Overall, she now has seven wins and her victory Saturday was her career best as she bumped her career bankroll up over the $40,000 mark. She is the third and final foal from the Valley Speed mare Shawnee Red, who had a mark of 1:55.2 during her racing career.
In another division of the conditioned trot, Watch Miss Tucky moved first over and dug in gamely to win her race in 1:56.4. Swan Too Many was second for Cristian Pacheco. Tough Muscle and Kevin Lambright finished third.
Driven by Kyle Husted, Watch Miss Tucky paid $4.40 for the win. The five-year-old daughter of Pinetucky is owned by Neil Coleman and Lloyd Schneiderman. Black Creek Farm bred and raised her while Coleman trains. It was the fifth win of 2026 for Watch Miss Tucky and her 13th overall. She now has in excess of $134,000 in earnings with her career best time of 1:53.1 taken this summer at Harrah’s Hoosier Park.
