Likeit Otoole one of five winners for Driver Clint Coy

The Indiana Sired Fair Circuit (ISFC) kicked off Wednesday, June 3 at the Converse Fairgrounds with a first look at the new crop of two-year-olds. The first freshman winner of the year was Likeit Otoole, one of five winners on the day for Driver Clint Coy.
Likeit Otoole began from post five and left the gate searching for the lead. She was met by Elate and Roy Wilson, who were also leaving the gate with speed. Elate had the edge over Likeit Otoole and took over heading into the first turn, allowing Likeit Otoole to slip in behind her in the two-hole. Shaynna Bay and DeShawn Horton were left on the outside through the quarter in :32.0 and half in 1:02.2. They did get a slight lead heading to the three-quarters, keeping Likeit Otoole covered up on the inside.
Heading into the final turn, Shaynna Bay began to back off the leader, giving Likeit Otoole just enough room to get out to challenge for the stretch drive. Once she was able to get rolling, she was able to get by Elate along the inside and began to go into defense mode from a late charge by Northern Nightstar and Jeff Dever. At the wire, it was Likeit Otoole who was a winner by one length in 2:03.1. Northern Nightstar finished second after recovering from a break at the start over Elate for third.
Likeit Otoole is owned by Lori Davis and Silver Star Stables. She is trained by Greg Davis. Gerald Yoder bred and raised the Tellitlikeitis filly, who was purchased for $8,000 last fall in the Midwest Standardbred Sale Company from Yoder Standardbreds during the Silver Session. She is the latest foal from the Real Desire mare Plenty Otoole, who is the dam of GD Cool Otoole (1:53.4) and Plenty O’Rock (1:55.2). The family has a weanling filly by Best in Show named Plenty O’Show.
The day was also the first showing of the first crop by Pet Rock, who relocated to Indiana from Ohio. He had three winners on the day, including Vel My First Dream, also driven by Coy. She was a gate to wire winner in 2:02.2 with a final quarter paced in :29.1.
The quickest freshman mile on the day was recorded by two-year-old colt pacer This Captain Rocks, trained and driven by Robert Taylor. After making a break before the start, This Captain Rocks rallied back and took over by open lengths at the three-quarters in 1:30.1. From there the Capt Midnight colt rallied out to a seven and one-quarter length advantage at the wire for the win in 1:59.1, a final panel in :29.0. Chad Webb owns This Captain Rocks, who was bred by Anthony and Michael Hill.
